Happy Birthday to the Good Ol’ USA

Today is July 4, 2015. Let’s see here…….that makes it, I believe Bicentenial + 39 years for the Good Ol’ USA.

I know you have a lot to do today, you know hot dog eating, adult beverages, grilling, adult beverages, fireworks, and………ohhh, better hold off on those adult beverages in case your doing the fireworks later tonight. You know that explosives and adult beverages don’t mix well, especially at the end of a long day. Why not sit back and watch these videos I have for you today, hmmmmm!

Any way, let’s take a step back and look at a few Independence Day videos.

The first is a movie trailer for July 4, 1940.  Before the US was involved in WWII the country was preparing for it, at least enough to help our friends over the seas. Less than a minute, so enjoy.

The next video is about 30 minutes. It is The United States Army presentation of The Big Picture: Our Heritage (1976). This video is more of a “Why we fight” type of video. I’m sure that it was produced in conjunction with the US Bicentennial.

And how about a few fireworks courtesy of the A-10 Warthog and the USAF. This was taken during training runs, but it is still fun to see things getting shot up. Plus, it sounds cool too.

Can’t get enough of that. Have a safe and wonderful 4th!
